1. Minnesota Timberwolves -

Reminds people of?
Al Jefferson, Al Horford, DeMarcus Cousins
Best Case<->Worst Case/Ratio?
2nd Banana, Top 7 Center <-> just another big body with more talent/50:50
Why him?
It's a weak draft. Irving is somewhat of an element of an uncertainty, Williams plays at least on a position which is already pretty crowded in the league. Kanter is a potent big man with upside, he has the potential to be one of the top centers in league. The least he can provide is a big body with more talent than most. Plus a big role here plays the team need of Minnesota at Center.
Why this team?
The T-Wolves have enough wing player and a PG to come in rubio. They have Kevin Love in the front and need a big body to combine under the basket.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?

This is a tough call and a nearby provoking outlook. But let me explain: The T-Wolves always made controversial calls within the last years, so why should they stop today? I mean remember, we have GM Kahn here folks!
Truth is, that there is a reasonable doubt in Irving (who didn't show up at college due to his injury, which also makes him possibly injury-prone) and Williams (a classical tweener). With Kanter you get the Center of your dreams if everything works out perfectly. So if there is a possible great C on board, why let him fall? Additionally to the Wolves rescue: They have their biggest need at Center, so it would make sense from that point of view.

They need everything and everybody to get back on track. Start with: a franchise player possibility. baron davis is old and can teach the kid something.

Best Case<->Worst Case/Ratio?
Franchise PG getting it down at all ends of the floor, Top 10 NBA player <-> undersized instable provider with sunshine moments next to DNP-CD/30:70
Why him?
Looks to me pretty much like a potential Superstar. Fuck the size issue. He has the heart, power and the winning genes. Maybe the best player in the draft, but nobody wants to go that far out of his long time mock status as late 1st rounder at best and undersized PG.
Why this team?
Toronto needs a big body like Kanter, or a new PG to replace Jose "he is cool, but not what we exactly want" Calderon. Walker could drive the game as decision maker and could even work out as the Franchise player.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
Kanter (finally the Euro big man they needed instead of Bargnani), Knight (similar to Walker) / Motiejunas (not another Bargnani)

Best Case<->Worst Case/Ratio?
a new potent european big man continuing the legacy of Pau Gasol and Dirk Nowitzki <-> Another european who couldn't deal with the toughness of the league/50:50
Why him?
The Lithuanian is an huge big body talent with a lot of upside. He has a better physis than european collegues. He can have an impact in the league even if it is not until 2 years from now.
Why this team?
The Wizards are in the process of building a new young team. Valanciunas would fit as the perfect replacement for headcase Andray Blatche. In 2-3 years he has the best chances to be a high value PF. He is a proper fit to Shot Block hardbody Javale Mcgee. Additionally the Wizards are one of the few teams in the league lacking an european player in the team.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
Williams (Team need at 3), Kanter (Big Body PF) / Irving, Walker, Knight (Wall as Franchise PG), Burks, Fredette (Young & Crawford as Shooters)

Why him?
He is actually the 2nd best player in the draft, if you are listening to the big Mockery. An perfect Combo Forward, who have a slight chance of having an impact on a Franchise.
Why this team?
It's a no brainer at this point of the Draft to take him. Williams would be a steal. Plus the Kings are actually also in need of a SF, so that would be the perfect fit.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
Walker, Knight (making Evans an clear 2) / Motiejunas (too weak PF for the Kings who are more in need of a stronger PF), Burks (have Thornton as Shooter)

Truth is, i'm not high on Williams, simply because he didn't convince me while the NCAA tournament that much. Hee also looks like a tweener, and you get the feeling that there are enough guys around capable of what Williams can do in the league. I know a lot of people disagree with me here.

Best<->Worst Case Scenario/Ratio?
A franchise Shooter who drills the Treys always in the right moment, an known NBA face to identify for fans <-> A bench shooter with some DNP-CD in his short career/50:50
Why him?
Fredette is the extremely hyped straight up shooter. This said, he is already in the hop or flop mode. In the ideal case he is a player to build around. A fan favourite in the making . One of the bigger issues is that Fredette is in need of a team that makes plays for him, if so then there is the chance to be a main player in the league.
Why this team?
The Jazz need a new face of the franchise after D-Williams left. Fredette fits perfect in that scenario. Besides the Jazz are in need at SG, and especially looking out for an offensive weapon here.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
Irving (New Deron), Kanter / Walker, Knight (too much similarities with D-Harris)
Where else would he fit?/Where not?
Warriors, Suns, Pacers / Raptors, Wizards, Kings, Pistons
Most Mocks have here?
Burks (70%), Knight (20%)
Highest/Realistic/Lowest Mock Value?
6 / 12 / 18
On an extra note?
A lot to say here. First off it's not a question about "Do you believe the hype?", someone simply will do. And that will be early on. The Jazz should be highly interested in this pick as they need a new face for their franchise, and frankly: Who would better fit than a white mormon? (haha, yeah, you can stone me for that now if you like) Honestly, Fredette needs a team that gives him room in the offense, and enough playing time and simply shots to find his rhythm in the league. The Jazz are exactly the team that can provide this, as they are in lack of a shooter, and are already in the middle of a rebuilding process, where Fredette just perfectly fits in. They have their pick at 12, which could be enough to get Fredette, but if they want that face for their franchise they simply will go at it as early as they can. I have them taking Burks at 12, so maybe it will be the other way round (which would match a lot of other Mocks), or maybe they simply are not high on Fredette and let him pass, but Sports is all about storys and this one would simply fit like eggs at breakfast. So i'm all in for that. If everything works out fine, Fredette could be one of the reasons, people will switch around their opinion about the weakness of this years draft in the future.

7. Detroit Pistons -
Brandon Knight, PG, Fr, Kentucky.
Chances to be taken here?

Best<->Worst Case Scenario/Ratio?
An intelligent Combo guard who controls his shot selection and grows into an franchise player <-> Shooter who wants too much control of the game while not contributing enough for the team/65:35
Why him?
Knight is an Combo guard who can take responsibility and is able to be a clutch player in the league.
Why this team?
The Pistons lack of structure. Their biggest need therefore is a PG who brings control back to the game. Knight might be just one of those. Especially if Walker is not available anymore.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
Walker (same reason as Knight), Vesely (good working ethic Forward Combo, brings Strenght) / Motiejunas (not another weak PF), Fredette (not another fancy shooter next to Gordon please)
Where else would he fit?/Where not?
Kings, Raptors, Bobcats / Wizards, Jazz, Cavs
Most Mocks have here?
Everybody from Biyombo to Vesely to Walker to Knight
Highest/Realistic/Lowest Mock Value?
4 / 6 / 9
On an extra note?
The Pistons just could draft anybody here, but what they should look for is a guy, that can give their appearance on court a new face. As Walker - who would imo be the perfect guy for this action - is already gone here, Knight is the natural follower, and i guess the Pistons could be lucky one day to pick him up. Btw the Pistons simply don't have a real PG, did anybody saw that? They literally have to draft one here.

Why him?
Motiejunas is a versatile big man. Offense machine. Ready and made player for the NBA. Can contribute now.
Why this team?
He is a good fit to the defensive strong Verajao and banging young gun Hickson in the frontcourt. Also i considered that the Cavs picked a PG at 2.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
Vesely (hard nosed SF), Burks (Team Lack of Shooting) / -
Where else would he fit?/Where not?
Jazz, Bucks, Suns, Rockets / Pistons, Bobcats
Highest/Realistic/Lowest Mock Value?

Most Mocks have here?
very different, partly depending on who the Cavs picked at Nr. 2
On an extra note?
There is a good chance, that Motiejunas lands even outside the lottery which would be a shock considering the projected weak draft. He maybe just has the bad luck of the bad example of Bargnani some years ago, which will remain in GMs heads for a while. There are just a few teams that would prefer to get a potent PF scorer, which lacks toughness. The Cavs may would be willing to take the bait.

9. Charlotte Bobcats -
Bismack Biyombo, C, Congo.

Why him?
High risk pick who could turn out as potent big man, that every team would love to have in the roster. Defensive machine. Blog Shot monster.
Why this team?
The Bobcats will tend to pick risky with their "new" goals. Center is a team need, they need more big bodies.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
Thompson (Need for a big man, willing to take the risk), Walker, Knight (Team need at PG), Jones (Wallace compensation) / Motiejunas, Vesely (no interest in unspectacular european prospects)
Where else would he fit?/Where not?
Warriors, Rockets / Jazz
Most Mocks have here?

Highest/Realistic/Lowest Mock Value?
4/10/20
on an extra note?
Definately the most risky pick, and as usual one team in the lottery will take the bait. The Bobcats under Mister Michael "I like to draft crap" Jordan just seems right for that move here. I have also Thompson gone to them at 19, which is probably much too late for a serious consideration, though the same counts like for the Jazz, the picks could be exchanged. But I don't see Biyombo fall so deep, rather than Thompson. I'm kind of sure too see in Biyombo the next outcoming of Ekpe Udoh. So hello Warriors, maybe you wanna have a look at him?

Why him?
Another European versatile Forward for the Bucks.
Why this team?
Fits the work ethic and Team first thoughts. No needs at Center or PG, so a combo Forward looks like a good bet. Quiet a safe pick at Nr 10.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
Leonard, Faried (hard nosed team players), Burks (Shooter for Redd) Motiejunas, Valanciunas (No fear of european projects)/ Thompson, Biyombo, Marcus Morris (no interest in Projects, more into win now mode)
Where else would he fit?/Where not?
Pistons, Jazz / Bobcats
Most Mocks have here?
Burks
Highest/Realistic/Lowest Mock Value?
3 / 8 / 12
On an extra note?
Many Mocks see an offense only machine here like Burks or Motiejunas, which would be the logical bet. Vesely may be the perfect Combo between offense and defense, which still is a team philosophy in Milwaukee. You shouldn't forget that.

Why him?
A Defense first Forward, Strong Rebounder
Why this team?
All the Warriors are looking for is Defense since last year. Despite the explosion of Dorell Wright SF seems to be an area they wanna add somebody. They need workers of the bench. Plus: Leonard is a homearea product.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
Biyombo (Ekpe Udoh of 2011), Fredette (The Stephen Curry of 2011), Faried (same reasons like Leonard), Thompson, Marcus (PF power under the rim) & Markieff Morris (Defense PF power) / Motiejunas (not another eureopean project after Biedrins please), Burks (not another shooter please), Knight, Walker (no more Combo guards please)

Leonard (60%), a few Fredette and Biyombo (each 15%)
Highest/Realistic/Lowest Mock Value?

That one fits like candy to children. The Warriors would like to get depth at SF, they would love to add defense, and Kawhi is from San Diego - even if the Warriors seems to could pick a lot of guys here, Leonard is too intriguing here.

Why him?
Straight up shooter, simply the first and best one in the draft.
Why this team?
Simply because the Jazz needs Shooting and guys in the backcourt. They even have to take Burks here despite Fredette, cause he is a breathtaking steal at this point.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
Leonard, Faried (hard nose workers, Team need), Markieff Morris / Thompson, Marcus Morris, Biyombo (I don't see the Jazz as a gamble team)

Most Mocks have here?
Fredette, Burks
Highest/Realistic/Lowest Mock Value?

Why him?
The 2nd best pure shooter in the draft. He should be a safe pick for a roleplayer at the wings.
Why this team?
After the breakdown of Vince Carter the Suns are in need of am SG next to Dudley and Pietrus. The other need would be a new SF, and even that Hamilton can provide as he is pretty big. Though as long as Grant Hill is walking he will be the guy.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
Marcus Morris, Thompson (finally a capable compensation for Bosh at PF), Burks, Fredette (even better shooter, if still available) /
Where else would he fit?/Where not?

A guy every team likes to have, hard nosed rebounder.
Why this team?
The Rockets are one og the teams that would appreciate another hard-worker next to Cuck Hayes, specially as they have no real Center around right now. Therefore, A tough rebounder is what they need.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
Leonard, Singleton (same reasons as Faried), Thompson (Rockets love prospects) / Burks, Fredette (no need for shooters, they have Martin)

To be honest, the Rockets are a team, that could draft nearly everyone. Only they know, what they are up to. They like hard workers like Faried as much as young prospects, that already got lost in other towns (Williams, Hill). After the departure of Adelman everything is possible, including trades that sent away Scola and Martin and could shake up the team. Therefore, you never know what will happen here. On a site note: As I was conducting the draft Terrence Jones just withdraw his name. Originally I had given a lot of thoughts before getting sure, that the Rockets will land him here.

The Pacers need simply a PG who isn't available anymore at this point, or a complementary PF to Hansbrough, an impact setting guy like Morris.

Solide, physical strong PF, especially on the defensive end.
Why this team?
The 76ers would love to grab a good big man, and at 16 they definately still have the shoot to get one. Markieff is a homeproduct, can step up immediately and will give the team a much needed inside presence.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
Burks, Hamilton, K. Thompson (A new shooter), M. Morris, T. Thompson (PFs) / Harris, Honeycutt (Igouadola + Turner have the SF position)

The Bobcats still fits best for him. Thompson will be a big time project but has the potential to be one of the best players in this draft.

A few folks are really high on Jackson, sometimes that's just enough to be picked early by the right team. I also like what I saw, he just brings in another nice PG in this years draft. If he got drafted here, that would be just the nice coincidence that Blazers decisionmaker are belonging to the mentioned group.
------------------------------------------------------------------
22. Denver Nuggets -
Trey Thompkins, PF Jr, Georgia.
Chances to go away at this point?
65%
Who to compare to?
Channing Frye, Al Harrington, Brian Cook
Best<->Worst Case Scenario/Ratio?
He turns out as a capable PF doing an allround job <-> He just goes down as big man bench opportunity / 25:75
Why him?
He is a NBA made PF. A Team would just draft him for team need, but he is worth a 1st rounder.
Why this team?
Simple and plain: Denver just has one need: PF. Andersen and Martin are old and highly injury-prone. All the other position are best casted. Thompkins is the last PF on the board worth taken in the 1st round.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
Morris twins, Thompson, Faried (PF need), Nogueira (getting Nênes next buddy at C) / Smith, Singler, Honeycutt, Harris (No need for wingers)
Where else would he fit?/Where not?
Pacers, Knicks, Bobcats / Bulls
Most Mocks have here?
Thompkins, Markieff Morris, Motiejunas, whichever PF will fall till here
Highest/Realistic/Lowest Mock Value?
15 / 22 / early 2nd round
on an extra note?
Simply the last PF available who his kind of worth to be taken in the 1st round. I really hope for Denver that somebody else will fall through.
------------------------------------------------------------------
23. Houston Rockets (from Orlando Magic) -
Tyler Honeycutt, SF, So, UCLA.
Chances to go away at this point?
40%
Who to compare to?
Josh Childress, Tayshaun Prince, Austin Daye
Best<->Worst Case Scenario/Ratio?
He becomes an all around player every team wishes for to have in his team <-> He is n0t finding his role in the team and atrves on the bench / 60:40
Why him?
All arounder who can do a little bit of everything.
Why this team?
The Rockets just fits perfectly well for flexible players right now. Honeycutts type of playing just looks like Rockets basketball.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
As usual with the Rockets, nearly everybody in the back of the 1st round would make a nice fit / maybe no PG like Jackson
Where else would he fit?/Where not?
Bobcats, Thunder / -
Most Mocks have here?
-
Highest/Realistic/Lowest Mock Value?
14 / 21 /30
on an extra note?
Honeycutt naturally was one of the players i tend to overview for quiet a while. He reminds me too much of player types like Henderson and Daye, who are kind of too weak for the NBA while being really talented. Within the last weeks though I came more and more to the conclusion, that he could maybe have more impact with his versatility. We will see.
------------------------------------------------------------------
24. Oklahoma City Thunder -
Nolan Smith, PG, Sr, Duke.
Chances to go away at this point?
45%
Who to compare to?
Mario Chalmers, Anthony Carter, Tony Delk
Best<->Worst Case Scenario/Ratio?
A perfect back up glue guy from the bench for a lot of years <-> Too less to bring to the table, so he finally gets dismissed in any roster / 90:10
Why him?
If you need a reliable man from the bench who can contribute right now, Nolan is the man.
Why this team?
First of, OKC is in "win now"/"win a title" mode and can need help for the bench out of the draft. Nolan is the perfect fit, as he finally can provide an organized game while Westbrook is sitting. OKC nearly is the only team that can relax and search for components of the future championship team.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
Mirotic (OKC also is the only team that can afford it to wait for an prospect 2 more seasons, and then get an impact now top 10 pick) / Thompkins (no PF tweeners needed)
Where else would he fit?/Where not?
Celtics, Pacers, Bulls / Nuggets, Nets
Most Mocks have here?
Smith or Mirotic
Highest/Realistic/Lowest Mock Value?
15 / 25 / early 2nd round
on an extra note?
Smith is like the safest bet you can get here. I had a hard problem to decide if he already got picked by OKC or will go to the Celtics. Westbrook or Rondo backup? If OKC takes Mirotic, i would definately let Nolan go to the Cs.
------------------------------------------------------------------
25. Boston Celtics -
Shelvin Mack, PG, Jr, Butler.
Chances to go away at this point?
20%
Who to compare to?
Kyle Lowry, AJ Price, Sherron Collins, (Ben Gordon)
Best<->Worst Case Scenario/Ratio?
He surprises folks and can play PG while shooting the lights out <-> He is an unreliablility from the bench and does have up and down games in regular fashion / 40:60
Why him?
A NCAA tournament sensation Mack follows the cinderella story of an winning PG combo guard.
Why this team?
Boston needs power from the bench. If Nolan is off the board Mack would be a logical pick for the backcourt.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
Nolan (backup for Rondo), Mirotic (considering already a rebuild), Selby (take a flier), Jackson (homegrown PG) / -
Where else would he fit?/Where not?
Blazers, Thunder, Bulls, Heat, Pistons / T-Wolves, Spurs
Most Mocks have here?
Smith, Jackson
Highest/Realistic/Lowest Mock Value?
21 / 28 / mid 2nd round
on an extra note?
The reason Mack appears here is, that Smith just disappeared from the list, I kinda liked the idea of a new guard for the Celtics, and I like Mack and wanted him to stay in the 1st round. Though he would make perfectly sense in the eraly 2nd round, with Miami for example.
------------------------------------------------------------------
26. Dallas Mavericks -
Josh Selby, SG/PG, Fr, Kansas.
Chances to go away at this point?
30%
Who to compare to?
Monta Ellis, Jerryd Bayless, Randy Foye
Best<->Worst Case Scenario/Ratio?
Chance to be a high flyer, omnipotent scorer, who can carry a team <-> a wasted talent, starving on the bench / 15:85
Why him?
A high school talent, struggling in college, who still could emerge as a draft surprise.
Why this team?
Dallas likes to go for talent and possible upside. Always quiet a difficult task at the end of the 1st round, but not unpossible as the last drafts showed. Selby definately has the best possibility to change tack.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
Jackson, Smith, Mack, Cole (Searching fo the new "Kidd" in town), T. Thompson, Thompkins, Johnson (backup PF) / K.Thompson (no shooter needed)
Where else would he fit?/Where not?
Every team that believes in him / -
Most Mocks have here?
-
Highest/Realistic/Lowest Mock Value?
16 / 26 / 2nd round
on an extra note?
Dallas drafted Beaubois and Jones in the years before, so Selby just would make perfect sense here - another combo guard with huge talent. Though recent rumours have Selby going higher, i may adjust my Mock then.
------------------------------------------------------------------
27. New Jersey Nets (from Los Angeles Lakers) -
JaJuan Johnson, SF/PF, Sr, Purdue.
Chances to go away at this point?
35%
Who to compare to?
Hakim Warrick, Charlie Villanueva, Channing Frye
Best<->Worst Case Scenario/Ratio?
Can claim a Forward spot for him in the NBA, solide slider between SF and PF <-> just another tweener / 25:75
Why him?
Pretty solide Combo Forward, who can immediately contribute and is NBA ready after 4 years in college.
Why this team?
The Nets are in need of both SF and PF. Additionally to this they have to take somebody who can contribute now, as they just have one year left to convince D-Will that they are a "Win now" team.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
To be honest the Nets could need anybody. They are a lottery team drafting in the late 20s, what do you expect?
Where else would he fit?/Where not?
Everywhere. He is too much of an safe allrounder / maybe not Portland, they have too many good Forwards.
Most Mocks have here?
-
Highest/Realistic/Lowest Mock Value?
18 / 25 / early 2nd round
on an extra note?
I had Johnson as safe bet for the 1st round as he can contribute now after 4 years of college, and is a flexible Forward. Though my thoughts going backwards now - As longer as I think about him, as higher are my doubts in him. In the end, he is an undersized big man, who could easily end up getting tossed. Maybe he will end up in round 2 after all.
------------------------------------------------------------------
28. Chicago Bulls (from Miami Heat) -
Klay Thompson, SG, Jr, Washington St.
Chances to go away at this point?
45%
Who to compare to?
Marco Belinelli, Kevin Martin, Wally Szczerbiak, Francisco Garcia
Best<->Worst Case Scenario/Ratio?
Pure shooter, that provides all that is necessary for a winning team, starting spot with the Bulls <-> Too less athletic guard who can't compete enough in the league / 65:35
Why him?
Pure shooter, the last possible in the 1st round.
Why this team?
That fulfilly the Bulls first team need: A shooting SG. Exactly what they already searched for at the trading deadline.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
Singler (solide roleplayer for years to come), Selby (hidden talent from the bench), Smith (finally a solide backup for Rose), Mirotic (can add strenght to the team in 2 years) / Dunn, McCarmey (no lockerroom cancer please)
Where else would he fit?/Where not?
Pacers, T-Wolves / Nuggets
Most Mocks have here?
-
Highest/Realistic/Lowest Mock Value?
15 / 25 / 30
on an personal extra note?
I don't like Thompson at all, but he is in the 1st round everywhere. So I couldn't pass on him and gave him to the team at the end of the draft, that needed a pure shooter most.
------------------------------------------------------------------
29. San Antonio Spurs -
Jon Leuer, PF, Sr, Wisconsin.
Chances to go away at this point?
15%
Who to compare to?
Ryan Anderson, Jason Smith, Nick Collison
Best<->Worst Case Scenario/Ratio?
A smart team player, providing depth from the bench <-> less too athletic to hold it up on this level / 70:30
Why him?
If you need smart backup power in the front, Leuer would be a good fit.
Why this team?
The Spurs like reliable guys with high basketball IQ in the front, he would be a good complement.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
Mirotic (long time project, part of rebuilding process in 2 years), Singler, Smith (smart players Popovich will like), Nogueira (Duncan replacement, if the Spurs believe in him) / K. Thompson (no shooters needed), Thompkins (no tweeners needed)
Where else would he fit?/Where not?
Bulls, Mavs / Thunder, Nuggets
Most Mocks have here?
Bertans
Highest/Realistic/Lowest Mock Value?
late 1st round / 2nd round / late 2nd round
on an extra note?
Another 1st round safe bet. Nothing but a smart roleplayer, but that's okay for this years draft choices.
------------------------------------------------------------------
30. Chicago Bulls -
Kyle Singler, SF/SG, Sr, Duke.
Chances to go away at this point?
30%
Who to compare to?
Mike Dunleavy, Wally Szczerbiak, Mike Miller
Best<->Worst Case Scenario/Ratio?
He is going to be a solide backup from the bench, providing strength for a contender in his 12 year career <-> He can't hold up with the league and has to retire early / 80:20
Why him?
You can't get more solide here. Sure he had a bad NCAA season at the end, but seriously everybody knows that he is a capable NBA backup.
Why this team?
The Bulls are a contender for the next couple of years. They need reliable backup player and nothing but that. Singler just provides that and has the right mentality.
Who else would fit?/Who wouldn't?
K.Thompson, Selby (shooter + hidden talent from the bench), Smith (finally a solide backup for Rose), Mirotic (can add strenght to the team in 2 years) / Dunn, McCarmey (no lockerroom cancer please)
Where else would he fit?/Where not?
Spurs, Celtics / Bobcats, Nuggets
Most Mocks have here?
-
Highest/Realistic/Lowest Mock Value?
24 / 30 / 2nd round
on an extra note?
Singler is a safe bet for someone who gets a guaranteed contract at the end of the 1st round. He also can provides now, which is needed Chicagos contender team.
------------------------------------------------------------------
some words on the 2nd round
The Miami Heat are able to pick at 31 and with that it's legimated to make guesses for this team, who doesn't have a 1st rounder: It's simple. The Heat are in deep need for C and PG. So they have option to chose between one of the various Center projects such as Jeremy Tyler, Lucas Nogueira and Jordan Williams or one PG out of the ocean of Playmakers this year, such as Imam Schumpert, Norris Cole or Shelvin Mack. All rovided of yourse, that they slipped through into the 2nd round.
Don't forget the mass of europeans - also in the 2nd round - coming in, first to mention Nikola Mirotic, Davis Bertans and Bojan Bogdanovic. Most of them have huge buyout terms, so - as we don't have too many teams, that can relax and lay back, just needing to add some depth - the outsourcing of talents for some time will be too risky for most clubs, who need draft power right now.
Although it seems like this draftclass should be that bad, that there won't be much chance for most 2nd rounders to get a foot into the league, i'm already interested in the 2nd round because of the flood of PGs. This would be nice if the one or the other could establish in the league. My personal Top 10 here:
1. Shelvin Mack, 2. Iman Shumpert, 3. Charles Jenkins, 4. Norris Cole, 5. Jacob Pullen, 6. Kalin Lucas, 7. Andrew Goudelock, 8. Isaiah Thomas, 9. Demetri McCamey, 10. Brad Wanamaker
I'm really excited about the outcome... and i'm sure there is at least one guy, hopefully even more who can prove that this years draft isn't that bad...
Unbelievable 9 Picks from the 2nd round will go to California (4x Lakers, 2x Clippers, 2x Kings, 1x Warriors) - maybe the sunshine can bring out the best from some guys there?!
It's especially interesting as The L.A. Lakers could be kind of interested in a sort of rebuilding after their devastating playoff-bounce. The Lakers already drafted "interested in their picks" in 2010 when grabbing the slipped talents Devin Ebanks (at some point a lottery candidate) and Derrick Character. They even gave them some playing time in their normally tight rotation. So maybe the Lakers are having a close look on some talents and try to push them, giving already 4 Rookies out of the 2nd round the possibility to make their way into the league. They pick at 41, 46, 56, and 58 - so already at times when the "possible late 1st rounders" should be out of their reach. That will be interesting.
The other interesting theme here comes also from the city of Angels. As the L.A. Clippers are not having any 1st round picks (and could have had the 1st overall, ouch!), they will try to add some talent out of the second row to their "win now/win Blake" mode. They pick at 37 and 47, providing also some chances for guys to get a grab here.
Also some teams like the Nets, Hornets, Hawks, Grizzlies and Magic won't screw their picks as they just have this one (Nets have their late 1st rounder, but a crappy roster), and could all use some new blood in their team. Teams like the Bucks or Bobcats are known to take their picks also into consideration for giving them a chance. And finally, there are a lot of crapshots drafting here, who simply needs power, also out of the 2nd round.
There are 3 players I simply hope to be picked at all - 3 guys, that made some impression to me while playing at the NCAA tournament: Jamie Skeen, Jacob Pullen and Vernon Macklin are into the mix for a pick in the middle to late 2nd round. I just hope they - or at least one or two of them can make it into the league.
